At a time when it is cloudy, there may be frequent thunder and lightening. The sound of thunder takes some time to reach you after you see the lightening. Can you answer why this happen? Measure this time interval using a digital watch or a stop watch. Calculate the distance of the nearest point of lightning. (Speed of sound in air=346m/s)

this happens beacuse lightning is nothing but highly charged particles which releases alot of energy in the form of light

and as speed of light is more then speed of sound therefore u see it before hearing it
