by AA similarity , ΔDAC is similar to ΔDCB. so,CD/BD=AD/CD.
⇒ CD^2=AD*DB
⇒ CD^2=AD*DB

cd is perpendicular on ab so by pythagoras theoram CD²= AD²-DB²
