Given

Process=> constant temperature

So

Pv=nrt

Nrt= constant

P1v1= P2v2-------(1)

Data Given
Volume decrease by 40%
Let initial volume =v1

Final volume = 0.6v1

Pressure (p1) =1080 mm of hg

Putting the values in equation 1, we get

1080xv= p2x0. 6v1

p2 = \frac{1080 \times v1}{0.6v1}p2=0.6v11080×v1

p2 = \frac{1080}{0.6}p2=0.61080

Final pressure (p2) =1800 mm of hg

This is ur ans hope it will help you in case of any doubt comment below
