Answer : The volume of gas will be, 380 ml

Solution :

According to the Boyle's law, the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to the volume of gas at constant temperature.

P\propto \frac{1}{V}

P_1V_1=P_2V_2

where,

P_1 = initial pressure of gas = 380 mmHg

P_2 = final pressure of gas = 1000 mmHg

V_1 = initial volume of gas = 1000 ml

V_2 = final volume of gas

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get the final volume of gas.

(380mmHg)\times (1000ml)=(1000mmHg)\times V_2

V_2=380ml

Therefore, the volume of gas will be, 380 ml
