At constant temperature volume of gas at 2 atm pressure is 10 liter. what is the volume of the gas,if the pressure is increased to 4 atm? kerala syllabus

Considering the gas is ideal gas, hence gas law's will be applicable on it.

PV = nRT , where P is pressure, V is volume, n is number of moles, R is constant, T is temperature.

Through this formula, at constant temperature we get P1V1 = P2V2,

Here, P1 is 2, V1 is 10, P2 is (2+4= 6), V2 is unknown.

SO, 2*10 = 6*V2

20= 6V2

V2 = 20/6= 3.33

Hence, the volume of gas at constant temperature will be 3.33 L, if the pressure is increased by 4 ATM.
