yes, because in day time the Sun evaporate the water and after the dawn the evaporated vapour come back due to winter and it get on the leaves, not only the leaves but also in many things...

In winter we have colder weather, sometimes snow and frost, the trees have no leaves and the amount of time it is light during the day is at its shortest.
