To prove :

sin^2Q+cos^2Q=1

we know sinQ=Perpendicular/Hypotenuse

and cosQ=Base/Hypotenuse

therefore,p^2/h^2+b^2/h^2=p^2+b^2/h^2

h^2/h^2=1.
