But there are two characters in Apex Legends that aren't unlocked from the beginning of the game. These are Caustic and Mirage, and you can unlock them with either 12,000 Legend Tokens, or 750 Apex Coins.

At launch, there were eight characters to choose from in the game, Apex Legends but with the introduction of the first season( season-1), there were nine characters in all.

The eight characters at the time of launch are Bangalore, Caustic, Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Mirage, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Wraith. The one added during Season-1 is Octane.
