Answer:

option (a)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

AB and CD are perpendicular lines intersecting at 90°.

O is the intersection point.

To find:-

Angle x- Angle y

Solution:-

Angle y= 62° ( Vertically opposite angles)

Angle AOC + Angle BOC= 180° (Linear Pair)

Angle x+ Angle y= 180°

Angle x+ 62°= 180

x= 180-62

x= 118°

Therefore, x- y

=> 118° - 62°

=> 56°

Therefore, 56° is the correct solution.

TotAl sum of the given angle = 360⁰

Now, as vertical angles are always equal angle 62⁰ = angle y

and, angle x = it's vertical angle.

Now,

2x + ( 62+62⁰ ) = 360⁰

2x+124=360⁰

2x = 360-124⁰

2x = 236

x= 236/2= 118⁰

Now, angle X - angle y = 118⁰-62⁰= 56⁰

So, answer is a) 56⁰

Hope it helps
