Explanation:

Given :-

Mr. Gupta left 1/4 th of his money for this son. 1/3 of the money for his daughter and remaining for his wife. The share of his wife Rs. 63000.

To find :-

How much money did Mr. Gupta have ?

Solution :-

Let the money Mr.Gupta has be Rs. X

Money given to his son

= 1/4 th of his money

=> (1/4)×X

=> (1×X)/4

=> Rs. X/4

Money given to his daughter

= 1/3 of the money

=> (1/3)×X

=> (1×X)/3

=> Rs. X/3

Remaining money = Total Money - Money given to his daughter and son

=> X - [( X/4)+(X/3)]

LCM of 4 and 3 = 12

=> X - [(3X+4X)/12]

=> X - (7X/12)

=> (12X-7X)/12

=> 5X/12

Money given to his wife = Rs. 5X/12

According to the given problem

Money given to his wife = Rs. 63000

=> 5X/12 = 63000

=> 5X = 63000×12

=> X = (63000×12)/5

=> X = 12600×12

=> X = Rs. 151200

Answer:-

The total money of Mr. Gupta = Rs. 151200

Check :-

The total money of Mr. Gupta = Rs. 151200

Share of his son = 151200/4 = Rs. 37800

Share of his daughter = 151200/3 = Rs. 50400

Total share of his daughter and son

=> 37800+50400

=> Rs. 88200

Remaining money = 151200-88200

=> Rs. 63000

His wife share = Rs. 63000
