1. a)  = x-1+1   = 0+1

       =x = 1

b)  = x+1-1   = 0-1

    =x = (-1)

c) = x-1+1   =5+1

   =x = 6

d) =x+6-6   =2-6

   =x=(-4)

e)  =y-4+4  =(-7)+4

    =y=(-3)

f) =y-4+4  =4+4

  =y=8

g) =y+4-4  =4-4

   = y=0

h) =y+4-4  =(-4)-4

    =y=(-8)
