The idols of Ravana along with his brothers Meghnads and Kumbhkaran are stuffed with crackers and burnt on Dussehra night, to celebrate the victory of good over evil.

Dussehra

Dussehra is also known as Vijayadashami. On this day Lord Rama got victory over Ravana which can be said as the victory of good over evil.

Ravana kidnaps Sita who was the wife of Lord Rama and takes her to his kingdom Lanka. Rama asks Ravana to release Sita but, Ravana denies ro do that and this leads to the war between Ravana and Lord Rama.
