At one end of ripple tank 80 cm across , 5Hz vibrator produces waves whose wavelength is 40 mm. Find time the waves need to cross the tank.

Wavelength = velocity / frequency
So, velocity = wavelength * frequency
=> velocity = 0.04m*5hz
=> velocity = 0.2m/s
80 cm = 0.8m
=> 0.8/0.2 m/s = 4 sec
