By saying "My butterfly day are over, I fear?", Mr Easton actually meant that his days of earning money by cheating people is over and now he is going to prison but Miss Fairchild took it in a positive manner and thought by this statement Mr. Easton meant that now as he had become a marshal, he cannot enjoy his life and would be gennerally busy and working.
