EXPLANATION.

  • GIVEN

Let the present asha age is 2 more than the square of her daughter Nisha age.

asha age would be one year less than 10 times

the present age of nisha.

Find the present age of both Asha and

Nisha.

According to the question,

Let nisha age will be = x years

Asha age will be = x^2 + 2 years

according to the question,

when nisha grow their mother present age =

Asha present age - nisha present age

= x^2 + 2 - x

Then Asha age = Asha present age + growing time.

Therefore,

x^2 + 2 + x^2 + 2 - x = 2x^2 - x + 4

according to the question,

asha age = 10 Tim the age of nisha - 1

2x^2 - x + 4 = 10x - 1

2x^2 - 11x + 5 = 0

2x^2 - 10x - x + 5 = 0

2x ( x - 5 ) - 1 ( x - 5 ) = 0

( 2x - 1 ) ( x - 5 ) = 0

x = 1/2 and x = 5

1/2 age is not possible

Therefore,

x = 5

Nisha present age = 5 years

Asha present age = (5) ^2 + 2 = 27 years.
