At present Ravi's age is 4 more then the square of his daughter Anamika's age. When Anamika grows to his father's present age, Ravi's age would be four years less then 13 times the present age of Anamika. Find the present ages of Anamika and Ravi. (Given Anamika's age is more then three years.)

Anamika's age = A

Ravi's age = A² + 4

Anamika's age When Anamika grows to Rav's age  = A² + 4 - A

When Anamika's age A² + 4 - A Ravi's age would be =

A² + 4 + A² + 4 - A = 13A - 4

2A² - 14A + 12 = 0

A² - 7A + 6

(A - 1)(A - 6)

Anamika's age  = 6

Ravi's age = 36 + 4 = 40

Answer:

Anamika's age  = 6, Ravi's age = 40.

Step-by-step explanation:

Anamika's age = A

Ravi's age = A² + 4

Anamika's age When Anamika grows to Ravi's age  = A² + 4 - A

When Anamika's age A² + 4 - A

Ravi's age would be = A² + 4 + A² + 4 - A = 13A - 4

2A²+8 -A -13A +4 = 0

⇒ 2A² - 14A + 12 = 0

⇒ A² - 7A + 6 = 0

⇒ (A - 1)(A - 6) = 0

A - 6 = 0

A = 6

Anamika's age  = 6

Ravi's age = 36 + 4 = 40

Therefore, Anamika's age  = 6, Ravi's age = 40.
