Let Arjun's age be "x"
So, Sachin's age is "3x"
Arjun's age before 3 years = (x-3)
Sachin's age before 3 years = (3x-3)
Before 3 years Sachin : Arjun = 4(3x-3):1(x-3)
According to Question,
1(3x-3) = 4(x-3)
=> 3x - 3 = 4x - 12
=> 12 - 3 = 4x - 3x
=> 9 = x
∴ x = 9
When Ratio is 2:1
Their age = 2*9 and 1*9
= 18 and 9
Therefore when the ratio is 2 : 1
Their age will be 18 years and 9 years
So, Sachin's age is "3x"
Arjun's age before 3 years = (x-3)
Sachin's age before 3 years = (3x-3)
Before 3 years Sachin : Arjun = 4(3x-3):1(x-3)
According to Question,
1(3x-3) = 4(x-3)
=> 3x - 3 = 4x - 12
=> 12 - 3 = 4x - 3x
=> 9 = x
∴ x = 9
When Ratio is 2:1
Their age = 2*9 and 1*9
= 18 and 9
Therefore when the ratio is 2 : 1
Their age will be 18 years and 9 years
