Answer:

Explanation:

Since the question is not clear about thier initial position , lets assume that all start from the same position and in the same direction from rest.

Now we're all concerned only about the Car and the Bike, since jet will anyway take off when it reaches its minimum speed for takeoff.

Also, its clear that acceleration of bike is greater than the acceleration of car, hence bike will obviously take the lead(Mind you, because both start from rest).

For time being , if in case their was no speed limit for both bike and car, then let me tell you bike will always overtake car.Unfortunately , thats not how our world works :) Yes, their is a speed limit after which no acceleration comes into play.

Now, lets see how  much time does the bike take to reach its maximum speed limit.

Using , equation of motion as acceleration is constant :-

v = u + a×t

58.8 = 0 + 8.40×t

∴ t = 7 seconds for the bike to reach maximum speed.

Now lets find out the speed of car in 7seconds, and you will notice that speed will come out less , as given in  question( As bike was leading right ?)

Using the equation of motion , you'll get the speed as 39.20 m/sec( try yourself)

Hence, the car is still behind the bike as bike is running at its maximum speed.

Now only if the car reaches the bike's maximum limit, it will overtake it.

therefore,

v = u + a×t

58.8 = 39.2 +5.60×t

∴ t = 3.5 seconds

Therefore, Total time taken for the car to overtake bike is = 7+3.5 = 10.5 seconds.
