Pressure = hdg

h = Pressure / (dg)
= (1.04 × 10^5 Pa) / (1.3 kg/m³ × 10 m/s²)
= 8000 m
= 8 kilometers

Height of the atmosphere is 8 kilometers

Given:

Atmospheric pressure,P=1.04\times 10^5 Pa

g=10 m/s^2

Density of air,\rho=1.3 kg/m^3

To find:

Height of the atmosphere

Solution:

We know that

Atmospheric pressure

P=h\rho g

By formula we get

h=\frac{P}{\rho g}

Substitute the values

h=\frac{1.04\times 10^5}{1.3\times 10}

h=8000 m

1 km=1000 m

h=\frac{8000}{1000}=8 km

Height of the atmosphere,h=8 km
