Let rate of diffusion of O₂ be “R1” and CO₂ be “R2”

Rate of diffusion of a gas = Volume / time

Also, let the molar mass of O2 be “M1” = 31.998 g/mol and the molar mass of CO2 be “M2” = 44.01 g/mol

By using Graham’s Law, we have

R1 / R2 = √[M2 / M1]

∴ [V1/t] / [V2/t] = √[M2 / M1]

Or, 16 / V2 = √[44.01 / 31.998]

Or, 16 / V2 = 1.172

Or, V2 = 13.651 ml
