Now, We know for an Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution curve which has been plotted for the Speed of the Molecules versus Fraction of molecules.

From this Curve, these scientists have derived some Formula by using its equation.

There were three main formula, First is of Root mean square Velocity, second is of Average Velocity, and third is of the Most probable velocity.

Now, Since, the question has been asked for Average speed,

u_a_v_g= \sqrt{\frac{8RT}{\pi M} }

where, R is the Universal Gas Constant, T is the temperature in K, and M is the molar mass of the gas.

Value of R here should be choosen as 8.31 J/moleK.
