At the begining of the game, a chess board contains 16 white and 16 black pieces, if during the course of a chess game 2 white and 5 black pieces are removed from the board, what percentage of the pieces remaining on the board are white?

Total number of pieces = 16+16 = 32

Pieces remained after removing =( 16-2)+ (16-5)

=14+11

=25

no. of white pieces = 14

X percentage of total pieces = white

therefore X/100 × 25 = 14

X/4 =14

x = 56 %
