Zitkala Sa began to cry because by now she was quite afraid, nervous, and uncomfortable. She had been quite uneasy at the new boarding school. Everything there was being done using a bell; she had not quite understood the system.  

On the contrary she belonged to native Indian culture. In her culture there was lots of freedom. She had grown up in that freedom. The restrictions and strict disciple at the school was making her feel miserable.
