Yes, she showed confidence and ability to take independent decisions as she had refused to marry Bishambernath. Actually, she was courageous and respected her parents due to which she agreed to marry him although she did not want to do so. But when she saw that Bishambernath was disgracing her father then just for the respect of her father, she refused to marry him. The teacher made her courageous enough so that she can stand for herself even when everyone was against her.

Because first time when she ready to marry bishamber Bcz she was respecting her parents.
But when Bishamber asked for dowry she refused to marry him....
Because now she is educated and confident girl who knows what's right and wrong...
She told her father that she will teach in the same school where she had learnt so much...
