.At the end of the winter season, a shopkeeper earns a profit of Rs 100 by selling a shirt but incurred a loss of Rs 50 on selling a woollen jacket. At the end of sale on one day, he incurred a loss of Rs 200 while he sold 10 jackets. How many shirts did he sell on that day?

Answer:

Profit for selling one shirt = Rs100

Loss for selling one Jacket = Rs50

Therefore Loss for selling 10 Jackets = Rs 50 × 10

= Rs 500

But The incurred Loss is Rs 200

Therefore the profit obtained for selling shirts = Rs 500 - Rs 200

Profit Obtained = Rs 300

So, No. of shirts he sold in a day = Rs 300 / 100

= 3

No. of shirts he sold in a day = 3
