At the time India gained Independence two third of its manufacturing employment came from the british community since the Indians were not yet literate due to education discrimination from the colonialists that exposed them to hard, manual labour instead of exposing them to the formal type of education, so by this time India did not have personnel to be employed by the manufacturing industries.
