Heya
Here's the answer
g1 = g (1 – 2h/R)
g1 is the acceleration due to gravity, at a height h from the earth.
R is the radius of the earth = 6371km
g1 = 9.8/3
9.8/3 = 9.8(1-2h/6371)
1/3 = (6371-2h)/6371
6371/3 = 6371-2h
2123.6 - 6371 = -2h
4247.3 = 2h
2123.6 = h
Dustance from centre is 2123.6+6371 = 8494.6km
