At what height above the surface of the earth, the value of g becomes 64% of its value at the surface of earth?

We just use the Newton's law of gravitation. that is simple.

Let the Force of gravitation on an object of mass m at an altitude h from Earth's surface distance be equal to F.

let Radius of Earth = Re = 6400 km

and mass of Earth be Me.

Let g = acceleration due to gravity at the earth surface.

gh = acceleration due to gravity at the height (h) = 0.64g.

Now,

0.64g = g R²E/(RE + h)²

=> 0.64 (RE + h)² = R²E

=> 0.8h = 0.2 × RE = 0.2 × 6400

=> h= 2 × 6400/8
