║⊕ANSWER⊕║

  • The weight of an object is minimum when it is placed at the center of the earth because when an object is in the center, experiences gravitational pull from all directions & the weight of an object maximum on earth is on the poles. That is why at poles body will weigh Max.

The poles of the earth surface is the weight of a body maximum.

Explanation:

  • The weight of a body is directly proportional to the ‘acceleration due to gravity’ at the surface of the ‘Earth’. This is because the mass of the body remains constant.
  • Now the ‘acceleration due to gravity’ changes on different places on earth with difference in the distance from the centre of the earth.
  • As the poles of the earth are much closer to the centre of the Earth than the equator the ‘acceleration due to gravity’ is maximum at the poles of the earth and the weight of the body is maximum at the poles of the earth.
