At what range will a radar set show a fighter plane flying at 3 km above its centre and at distance of 4 km from it?CLASS - XI PHYSICS (Kinematics)

As the fighter plane flies at 3 Km above the centre, it is at a straight line from the ground and as it moves a distance of 4 Km, the range of the radar forms a right angle involving the original point and the new location.

Hence, the distance of the plane from the radar can be found out by using Pythagoras’ theorem.

So this range is calculated as square root of (42 x 32 ) = 5 Km.
