Given:

Rita wants to grow her Rs.2500 to Rs.4000 in five years

To find:

rate of the interest

Solution:

We have given that Rita wants to invest the money to grow as it is not mentioned so the interest will be the simple interest only

Where,

Principle = ₹2500

Amount = ₹4000

So the interest is ₹1500

Time = 5 year

The formula to find the simple interest is

  • SI = PRT/100
  • 1500 = 2500×R×5/100
  • 1500 = 125×R
  • R = 1500/125
  • R = 12%

So the rate of the interest will be 12%
