Let principal be Rs 100

Amount = Double = Rs 200

SI = Amount - Principal

SI = 200 - 100

SI = Rs 100

SI = P×R×T / 100

100 = 100 × R × 12 / 100

100 and 100 will cut and we will get :

100 = R ×12

100/12 = R

50 / 6 = R

25 / 3 = R

R = 8.3 %
