◾Correct Question : At what speed will the velocity of water be equal to 20 cm of mercury column ? And it's g* = 10 m/s²
Solution → Here we have
➖•Velocity head : 20 cm of mercury column ( Hg) = 20 × 13.6 cm of water column ✔
➖•Also , g = 10 m/s² = 1000 cm/s²
[ We've just changed the system of units to Cgs ]
=> Now We know that ,
Velocity head = v²/2g ✔
=> 20 × 13.6 = v² / 2 × 1000
{ Cross Multiply & solve the values }
=> v = √20×13.6×2×1000
=> v = 737.5 cm/s
Again , changing to m/s We get
→v = 7.37 m/s approx
