■ The temperature at which water boils is 100°C.
As we know that, K = 273 + t°C
K = 273 + 100°C
Hence, water boils at 373K.
■ When we supply heat, for instance in case when we melt ice on a burner, the temperature at thermometer starts increasing. But at one point of time, the temperature stops increasing and ice starts to melt.
At this point, the heat is absorbed by particles or molecules of ice to overcome the intermolecular force of attraction and change from solid to liquid. It is a hidden form of heat, therefore temperature remains same at change of state.

When ice change to water, then its called Latent Heat of Fussion. When water change to vapour by hidden heat, then its called Laten Heat of Vapourisation.
