Speed of sound at a temperature T is given by,

V = 331.5 + 0.6T

where 331.5 m/s is the velocity of sound at NTP

1.2 times the value of 331.5 will be (1.2 x 331.5) = 397.8

Putting these values in the equation

397.8 = 331.5 + 0.6T

=> 0.6T = 66.3

=> T = 66.3/0.6 = 110.5 °C

Hence at 110.5°C the speed of sound in air will be 1.2 times its value at NTP.
