Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

T = 1.05×10^5 K

◆ Explaination -

Given that average molecular kinetic energy in gaseous hydrogen is equal to the binding energy of a hydrogen atom.

KE(avg) = BE

3/2 k.T = 13.6 eV

1.5 × 1.38×10^-23 × T = 13.6 × 1.6×10^-19

T = 2.176×10^-18 / (2.07×10^-23)

T = 1.05×10^5 K

Therefore, temperature is 1.05×10^5 K.

Hope this helps you...
