°F = (9/5) × °C + 32

We want know the temperature at which both °F and °C becomes equal.

So put the value X at both the places, our equation becomes,

X = 9X/5 + 32

or, 5X = 9X + 160

or, ‐4X = 160

which gives, X = –40°
