At what time between 7 and 8 o clock will the hands of a clock be in same straight line but not together?

For the hands of the clock toh be straight but not together, they should be opposite. Which means there should be a difference of 180 degree between them.

By formula,

Ha-Hm=0.5 x (60 x H - 11 x M)

We know that Ha-Hm = 180 degrees. And H = 7.

Therefore,

180 = 0.5 x (60 x 7 - 11 x M)

On solving we get,

M = 5.5 mins or 5 min 30 second (approx)

So the time would be 7:05:30 or 7 hours 5 mins and 30 seconds.
