When the temperature of an object is changed, then there is transfer of heat. When temperature is added to the water say water is boiling, adding more heat does not change the temperature. This is a common property of every substance can vaporize. Adding heat energy converts the liquid (water) into a gas (vapor) WITHOUT RAISING THE TEMPERATURE. Once the vapor is formed, adding more heat will raise the temperature.
