The synaptonemal complex  is a protein structure that forms between homologous chromosomesduring meiosis and is thought to mediate chromosome pairing, synapsis, and recombination. It is now evident that the synaptonemal complex is not required for genetic recombination in some organisThe homologous chromosomes in a bivalent are still connected by at least  chiasma. The rest of this phase is setting up the cell to make way for metaphase. Therefore, the nucleolus disappears, the nuclear envelope disintegrates and the centrioles move to the equator, whilst the mitotic spindles migrate.

preetpknows: But at what stage does it appears and disappears?
preetpknows: In One Word ??
voldemord: during the zygotene phase of Prophase I in the first division in Meiosis and is complete in the pachytene phase
preetpknows: Ok thank you
preetpknows: Add me if you want
voldemord: :)

Heya!!!

Here's your answer !!!

Synaptonemal complex appears during the Zygonema or Zygotene stage of Prophase of meiosis -1 and disappears during late Pachytene of meiosis -1

Hope this helps you :)
