Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A train travels 15 km/hr faster it would take one  hour less to travel 180 km.

To Find :-

The original speed  of the train.

Solution :-

Let  the original speed of the train be x km/h.

Time taken by the train to travel 180 km  = 180/x hours.

The new speed of the train = (x + 15) km/h

New time taken by the train = 180/x + 15

According to the Question,

\bf\implies\frac{180}{x} - \frac{180}{x+15} = 1

\sf\implies \frac{180(x+15)-180x}{x(x+15)}=1

\sf\implies \frac{2700}{x^2+15x}=1

\sf\implies x^2 + 15x - 2700 = 0

\sf\implies x^2 + 60 x - 45x - 2700 = 0

\sf\implies x(x+60) - 45(x+60)=0

\bf\implies (x-45)(x+60) = 0

x = 45 , - 60 (Neglected)

Hence, the original speed  of the train is 45 km/h.
