Given that,

  • Speed of the athlete = 10 m/sec
  • Time taken for the athlete = 5 min (convert minutes into seconds) = 5×60 sec = 300 seconds.
  • Distance travelled by the athlete = ?

We know that,

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance = 10 m/sec×300 sec

⇒ Distance = 3000 m (Convert m into km we get Distance = 3 km).

∴ The Distance travelled by the athlete is 3 km (or) 3000 m.

Hope this helps you.
