Step-by-step explanation:

quadratic eqn is 3x^2-2x-8=0

it can be factories as

3 {x}^{2}  - 6x + 4x - 8 = 0

3x(x-2)+4(x-2)=0

(3x+4)(x-2)=o

3x+4=0. or x-2=0

x=-4/3. x=2

therefore the roots of quadratic equation are x=-4/3, x=2
