Answer:

if x-1 is a factor of x+4x-5 it should become zero when value of x=1 is taken.

if x-1 is a factor of x+4x-5 it should become zero when value of x=1 is taken.therefore the equation becomes,

p(1)=0

p(1)=(1)+4(1)-5=0

=1+4-5

=5-5

=0

hence we can say say (x-1) is a factor of x+4x-5.

to find factor of variable

let x = 2

so

2 + 4*2 - 5

5

X - 1

2 - 1

1

so

5 is divisible by 1

that's why X - 1 is factor of x + 4x - 5 at x = 2

Another methods

x + 4x - 5

5x - 5

5(x - 1)

so the given polynomial is divisible by (X - 1)that's why it is factor of 5x - 5
