Atom A has 12 protons and 12 neutrons.Atom B has 11 protons and 12 neutrons.Are they the same or different elements? Explain your answer.

They're different elements sis....

Elements can be same only if number of protons on each atoms are same.

Here, the element having 11 protons and 12 neutrons is Sodium atom(Na): Atomic number:11 Mass number:11+12=23

And the element having 12 Protons and 12 neutrons is Magnesium atom(Mg):

Atomic number:12 Mass number: 12+12=24 ..(Average atomic mass of Magnesium is 24.3 because of isotopes)
