atom is electrically neutral because it has equal number of protons and electrons when it loses or Gaain electron it becomes an Ion

Here's a brief explanation:

• Since atoms are the smallest particle. They are divisible to Electron, Proton and neutron.

• Atom is considered as Neutral because , the charge on Protons is about +1.60217662 × 10-19 coulombs . And electrons also carry same charge but in -(ve) i,e -1.60217662*10^-19 coulombs.

• Now charge on Neutron is zero.

Hence Atoms are stable.
