Explanation:
Atomic absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) was utilized to analyze the fruit rind and seeds of three species of the genus Garcinia namely Garcinia indica (Thouars) Choisy, Garcinia gummi-gutta (L.) N. Robson and Garcinia xanthochymus Hook.f. ex T. anderson. This study reports the concentrations of various essential and toxic metals like Copper (Cu), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr) and Iron (Fe). The findings indicate that the toxic metal like Pb is much lower than the limits recommended safe for consumption by the National Academy of Sciences. Other metal ions like Cu, Fe, Cr, and Ni are at tolerable safe limits of consumption...
