Atomic numbers of different elements are always a whole number like [1 ,2 ,3 ….] because atomic number means the number of protons inside the nucleus of an atom that is always in the whole number form .
But the atomic mass is approximetaly equal to sum of the protons and neutrons [ mass no. ] So, as the mass no. can be in decimal whole number form that’s why the atomic mass can be either in whole no. form or decimal whole no. form .
