Atomic mass number is a whole number

  • The atomic number is a whole number due to the reason that there must always be a 'whole number of 'protons' in a nucleus'.
  • There was no possibility of fractions of a proton.
  • The atomic 'mass number' is constantly a whole number for the identical reason.
  • protons and neutrons regularly appear in single units, not infractions.
  • This is because the mass number of  element represents the 'total number of protons' and neutrons commonly existing in the nucleus of the given atom.
