A = sodium (Na)
B = calcium (Ca)
NaOH + HCl --> NaCl + H2O

The electronic configuration of metal A =2,8,1

Whereas the electronic configuration of metal B is=2,8,2

As metal A has only one electron in the valence shell so it lose it electron quickly as compared to metal B and acquires a stable electronic configuration

So metal A is more reactive than metal B

Reaction of metal A With dilute HCl

A. +. HCl = Acl. +. H2

And here the metal A is Na (sodium)

And metal B is Ca ( calcium)

pratish54: goven ans is wrong...atomic no. of metal B is 2,8,8,2
supritraj005: Yes u r right sorry for my typing mistake . The correct EC is 2,8,8,2
